Every spread opens completely flat, so a photograph can run across both pages without a fold through a face. MakeAlbum prints one format only, a 300 × 300 mm square layflat hardcover, 26 to 80 pages, and our own AI lays the pages out from the photos you upload.
Why the binding matters more than the paper
A standard perfect-bound photo book curves into the spine. Whatever sits in the middle of a spread, a horizon, a face, a bride's hand, disappears into the gutter, and the book never lies open on a table by itself. Most services sell layflat as an upgrade and charge for it per page.
Here the layflat binding is the product, not an upgrade: thick pages glued back to back, a hardcover with an acrylic plate on the front, matte or glossy pages, 300 × 300 mm closed and 60 × 30 cm open. Our own AI, built for photo books, uses that width: a strong wide photograph gets the whole spread, faces kept clear of the fold.

The AI lays out the spreads
Blur and duplicates are dropped, the rest is grouped into chapters and laid out with the spread in mind: full-bleed pages and two-page panoramas where a photo is strong and the crop is safe.
Approve, then it prints
Flip through every spread on screen, change anything, choose 26 to 80 pages, then order. Printed by Saal Digital, delivered to your door with shipping included.

Questions
Is layflat an extra cost?
No. Layflat is the only binding we print, and the price from €199 for 26 pages already includes it, the hardcover and delivery.
How thick are the pages?
Each spread is printed on one sheet and glued back to back, so a page is roughly the thickness of a postcard. The book lies open on a table on its own from the first spread to the last.
Can a single photo span two pages?
Yes. When a wide photograph is strong enough and its faces sit clear of the fold, our AI gives it the whole spread; you can also set that by hand in the editor before you order.
