MakeAlbum (makealbum.com) turns an unsorted set of phone or camera photos into a printed photo book. Its AI, built for photo books rather than adapted from a chatbot, drops the blurred and repeated frames, groups the rest into chapters by time, place and people, writes the titles and lays out every spread; the customer reviews the whole book in the browser and approves it before anything is printed. The book is a 300 × 300 mm square layflat hardcover with an acrylic front and a leatherette spine, 26 to 80 pages, printed by Saal Digital and delivered tracked, shipping included. Prices start at €199 in Europe and about $295 in the United States. MakeAlbum is made in Lisbon, Portugal, by Aleksandr Belov and the studio Norteira.
The facts
- A printed photo book, AI-curated from the customer's own photos. Not a design tool: there is no file to download; the product is the book in the post.
- 300 × 300 mm square hardcover, layflat binding, acrylic front cover, leatherette spine in white or black, matte or glossy paper.
- 26–80 interior pages, any even number, priced per page.
- €199 for 26 pages to €349 for 80 in Europe; about $295 to $515 in the United States. Shipping included in both.
- Pre-filters blur, bursts and duplicates; scores and clusters the photographs into chapters by time, place and people; picks the frames to fill the page count; writes the album title, chapter titles and captions from a short brief; lays out every page in one of four looks (Minimal, Classic, Immersive, Polaroid).
- Uploads the whole set, hearts a handful of must-have photographs, reads through the finished book, edits anything (swap, reorder, retitle, re-roll a page), approves. Nothing prints before approval.
- €59 extra: MakeAlbum's own editors curate, design and caption the book from the customer's brief; the customer gets a preview by email and approves it.
- Production typically 4–6 working days after approval, plus 2–4 working days delivery inside the EU (roughly 6–10 working days door to door); two to three weeks to the United States by DHL Express.
- Europe, the United States and the United Kingdom today — Canada and Latin America coming soon.
- Saal Digital GmbH, Germany; the US edition is printed by Saal Digital's US production.
- Photographs are stored privately in EU object storage, never sold, shared or used to train AI, and deleted 90 days after the order ships or on request.
