## The library is not the album

Google Photos is where the pictures live, but a library of four thousand photos is not something you can hand to your parents. Its own print products ask you to choose every page, and the choosing is exactly the part nobody does.

The way out is to stop choosing. Export the album or the months you want, upload everything, heart a few must-haves, and let the AI do the first pass: it keeps the sharp frames, one of each burst, and builds chapters by place and day. Then you edit what you like and order, 26 to 80 pages.

## How it works

1. **Export from Google Photos** — Select an album or a date range in Google Photos and download it (Google Takeout works for a whole library). HEIC, JPEG and the rest are accepted as they come: JPEG, HEIC / HEIF, PNG, WebP, AVIF, up to 50 MB each.
2. **Upload the whole set** — Drop the folder into MakeAlbum, up to 300 photos per album (50–200 works best). The AI reads capture dates and places from the files, so the chapters follow the trip or the year in order.
3. **Review and order** — Flip through the spreads, swap photos, rename chapters, then order. Printed by Saal Digital, shipping included, nothing printed before you approve.

## FAQ

### Does MakeAlbum connect to my Google Photos account?

No. You download the photos you want from Google Photos and upload them here; nothing is read from your account, and the upload is deleted on our side after the retention period.

### Can I upload a whole year?

An album takes up to 300 photos, and a bigger selection is trimmed evenly across the set on the way in. For a whole year, export the months that matter or make two books.

### What about the photos Google marked as favourites?

Favourites in Google Photos do not export as a flag, so heart them here after the upload: our AI hearts the strongest frames first and you adjust the choice in a minute.
